Buenos Aires, Argentina
Ola bloggers. Friday 19th now and still here. Looks like we wont be getting on the bikes till tuesday lunch. This obviously means more time in BA but that is turning out to be quite nice. The city is a real mix of old and new with lots of lovely spanish style cafes, small markets, along with modern tower blocks and bridges. We spent the whole day walking around checking stuff out. Me and suz only have coverse all stars on which are not the best walking attire so her feet are covered in blisters and mine are a bit sore. We saw lots of nice stuff and had plenty of ‘chop’(draught beer to you n me) in the cafes so it was a good day out. 8 of us went out so it was good to get to know everyone a bit better and we all had a laff.
SATURDAY 20TH.
Today was supposed to be a relaxing day of hopping onto a tour bus and seeing more sights in the comfort of a bus seat. The buses turned out to be packed so we all ending up hiking again. Normally this wouldnt be a problem but suz’s feet were in a bad way as it was so it turned out to be pretty painful. We first visited the Jardin Botanico (botanical gardens) which to be honest was a load of old crap, my parents garden is way better! It was just unkempt greenery with shit loads of cats wondering around, vermin. We then done a bit of subway travel to Cementerio De La Recoleta, this is the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. This is an amazing place, nothing like i have seen before. It is like a small town in the grid system but with hundreds of tombs. Some are emence and are obviously for wealthy families. You can see into some of them and see the coffins, some a couple of hundred years old. We left there after about half an hour and popped over the road for a scrummy ice cream. Just what you need after a visit to your local grave yard. I had Banana and mint, a weird combination i decided on but i think it may be the start of something new.
Tonight we are going to stay in and relax coz we are knackerd and we have also got the penthouse at the top of the building which is very nice but we have had it vey rough for the last couple of days, slept on some friends floor last night coz staying in seperate dorms with a bunch of ratty haired stinking freaks didnt appeal to either of us.
Probably be more relaxing tommorow or we may get the ferry over to Uruguay or maybe on monday, who knows but i will be sure to let you know first campers.
C YA.
