Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia

Can anyone tell me why on earth I left Semporna for Sandakan?! Eek! I need to find a way out a.s.a.p.!

Thankfully enough, I met a class Irish lad who’s caught the travel bug as well. We had a good dinner on the boardwalk by the sear and a couple jugs of cool Tiger beers… Mmmm! Sandakan seemed a little better on our way back to the hotel… Strange, eh?! I guess to be fair, it was a bit more wabbly as well!

On the other hand, I booked a three day jungle/river treck out on Sungai Kinabatangan. Pricy enough, but if the pictures speak the truth, it will be highly worth the expense. It’ll be my birthday gift, I guess! But seriously, how many place can you see orang utns, rhinos, hornbils, probiscis monkeys, king fishers, gibbons and elephants all at once? I gueass I even to include all those mad snakes too… I mean, 12 metre long pythons do deserve a mention! One thing for sure, I’m not aiming to come back out with an “oh my gawd” story involving the snaky ones! Elephants, yes, but no snakes! Or leeches since we’re on the subject!
